Carey, who had been fighting flu symptoms on Tuesday, woke up the following day suffering from dehydration and was subsequently rushed to the hospital, Gossip Cop reported. Carey was hooked up to IVs that filled her with both fluids and vitamins.
Carey was released later on in the day and is currently on the mend.
“[Carey] had been feeling under the weather with the flu over the past few days and was fighting it to the best of her abilities,” her rep told People magazine. “She is doing well now and will be performing as scheduled this weekend. She thanks her lambs for the continued support and well wishes.”
On Tuesday night, Carey had fought back her flu symptoms to attend the Pier 1 Christmas Pop Up Storybook launch in SoHo. She acknowledged at the event that she wasn’t in the best of health, but powered through her appearance.
Talking about her love of the holidays at the launch, Carey said, “I love a white Christmas. I love a snowy Christmas, so Aspen is my go-to. I’m going this year. It’s a tradition. I’ve been going there a long time.”
On Saturday, Carey is scheduled to perform at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
