This weekend was doubly special for Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon. Besides it being their third wedding anniversary, the couple also welcomed their twins, a boy and a girl, into the world on Saturday, April 30.

“My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!” Cannon, 30, tweeted the day of the delivery. Carey, 42, delivered a girl and a boy at 9:07 a.m. PST at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. Their names have not been revealed.

To celebrate the doubly special occasion, the first-time parents had the Rev. Al Sharpton renew their wedding vows at the hospital. “Mariah looks GREAT, and the babies are beautiful,” Sharpton tweeted. “I am so moved by the sincere spiritual commitment of Mariah and Nick. They have not let success separate them from GOD. I am so proud.”

The happy couple got plenty of well-wishes on Twitter, with Nicki Minaj writing, “Congratulations Mariah & Nick!!!!!!!!! The twins have finally landed on earth!!! Yaaayyyyy!!!!! @MariahCarey mmmuuuuaaahhhh!!!!!!” Carey’s former musical partners Boyz II Men wrote, “Just got the news! Congrats Mr and Mrs Cannon on ur twin babies!! Look forward to sleepless nights for the next few weeks, trust me lol!” Jermaine Dupri tweeted, "CONGRATS!!! to Nick and @mariahcarey on the birth of a baby girl and boy," and pregnant actress Alyssa Milano wrote, “Congrats! @MariahCarey & @NickCannon celebrate 4th anniversary becoming parents: https://mariah.is/mlSnAj /via @lil_red_man.”

As for the babies' names, “They won't be crazy names like Carburetor or something,” Cannon told People in January. “But they're definitely unique.”

The couple, who met during a video shoot for her single “Bye, Bye” and were married in April 2008, announced in October that Carey was pregnant. In fact, they were actually expecting shortly after their marriage, but Carey had a miscarriage, which was kept a secret until she announced her pregnancy last fall in an Access Hollywood interview.

The couple has plans to live a bi-coastal life, with nurseries in both New York and Los Angeles.

As far as more children, Carey recently declared she's done. Was the birth planned to coincide with their anniversary? Carey's representative Cindi Berger told People, “No, not even Mariah could plan that.”
