Margot Robbie To Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ Premiere; The Weeknd Is Musical Guest
Actress Margot Robbie and singer The Weeknd are set to appear on Saturday Night Live‘s 42nd season premiere.
SNL Premiere
Saturday Night Live announced Thursday that Robbie would have hosting duties for next Saturday’s premiere, while The Weeknd – real name Abel Lesfaye – would be the night’s musical guest. “SNL is back next weeknd!” the show captioned the announcement on Twitter.
While this will be the first Saturday Night Live appearance for Robbie, this will mark The Weeknd’s third time as SNL‘s musical guest, having previously performed in 2014 and 2015. The Weeknd’s third performance comes on the heels of him releasing the artwork and title for his third album Starboy, as well as the title song. Starboy, the follow up to Beauty Behind the Madness, is expected to drop Nov. 25.
As for Robbie, her star continues to rise in Hollywood. After her breakout role in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street, she’s had memorable turns in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, The Legend of Tarzan, and particularly in Suicide Squad, in which she played Harley Quinn. Robbie is already signed on to a Harley Quinn spinoff. Also in the pipeline for the Australian actress are features Terminal, the untitled A. A. Milne project and animated flick Larrikins.
