Making their Saturday Night Live debut on Saturday, Måneskin performed their popular cover of “Beggin” as well as a new original song titled “I Wanna Be Your Slave.”
Serving as the musical guest on Saturday, they accompanied first-time host, but no stranger to SNL, Will Forte.
Måneskin gained popularity through their hit cover of The Four Seasons’ 1967 song “Beggin” when it went viral on TikTok. It was eventually used in over 10 million TikTok videos.
Måneskin previously made gained fame as the 2021 Eurovision winners last May with their song “Zitti e buoni,” representing Italy and becoming the first winner for the country since 1990.
Below you can view both SNL performances by the group, where they outdid themselves between costume changes and an explosive stage presence.
Måneskin began their performance with their hit cover “Beggin,” each band member wearing a patterned blazer, which seems to be their signature style. The lead singer Damiano David wore a matching patterned pants accompanied by a brilliant smokey-eye look while interacting with his bandmates and the audience throughout the performance.
After a quick costume change, the band performed their new single “I Wanna Be Your Slave,” once again in their iconic patterned and colorful blazer sets.
Måneskin’s stage presence was electric with David’s vocals and personality lighting up the stage and Ethan Torchio on drums setting the tone for the set, while bandmates Victoria De Angelis on bass and Thomas Raggi on guitar danced around the stage in true rock-star fashion.
Måneskin announced on social media on Monday the postponement of their 2022 European tour Loud Kids on Tour ’22 as well as their Italian tour that was previously scheduled to begin next month in London. They hope to announce the new dates by March 1. Although the tour has been postponed for now, they are still set to perform all festivals they have lined up. This includes the Coachella Music Festival in California where the group will be performing on the third day of both festival weekends, April 17 and April 24.
