Mandy Moore and her singer-songwriter husband Ryan Adams are divorcing after six years of marriage.

Mandy Moore, Ryan Adams Divorcing

Moore, 30, recently filed for divorce from Adams, 40, in Los Angeles, according to multiple sources. The pair released a joint statement through a rep Saturday.

“Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage,” the rep wrote in a statement. “It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time.”

Moore reportedly cited irreconcilable differences in the filing and is seeking spousal support from Adams.

Though some reports suggested that Adams was in New York when the Because I Said So actress filed for divorce, a rep for the musician has stated that’s false. “They honestly filed on the same day,” a rep told Gawker. “Mandy didn’t file first.”

Trouble may have been brewing between the two since last fall, when Adams made headlines for ending an interview over questions about his marriage to Moore. “I just don’t share at all about my personal life,” he told the interviewer before hanging up. He later explained, “The deal is this: I’m a private person and I’ll be a gentleman and say I’m not talking about my marriage ever. I’ll never talk about it. Ever.”

Moore and Adams married in March 2009. The couple never had any children.
