Who Is Rory Farquharson, Malia Obama’s New Boyfriend? [PHOTOS]

On Saturday, 19-year-old Malia Obama, the eldest daughter of former United States president Barack Obama, was seen kissing someone prior to a Harvard-Yale football game. Reporters have now uncovered the identity of Obama’s boyfriend: Rory Farquharson.

A fellow 19-year-old Harvard student, Farquharson is from Britain. He previously attended Rugby School, which is regarded as one of the top schools in England. Farquharson was evidentially considered “quite a catch” there, and he was known to play golf and rugby. Furthermore, he was a member of the school’s chemistry club, the Blue Bunsen Society.

Farquharson was an extra in the video that aired during the 2015 Rugby World Cup Opening Ceremony, which also featured an appearance from Prince Harry. He also was honored as being the Head of School from 2015 to 2016, and he interned at the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building in Northern Ireland during the summer.

Farquharson arrived in the United States last fall, upon which he posted a picture of himself with the caption, “So it begins.” He’s currently a sophomore at Harvard. According to his Twitter profile, he’s expected to graduate in 2020.
