First Daughter Malia Obama was spotted on set of Stephen Spielberg’s sci-fi series Extant last week.

Malia Obama Helps Out On 'Extant' Set

Obama, who is done with school for the year, served as a production assistant on the Los Angeles set. "She helped with computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take," an insider told The Wrap.

Obama reportedly said, "My first time. This is a big deal!" of working behind the camera on Extant.

Actress Camryn Manheim, who is starring in Extant, had nothing but positive things to say about the 15-year-old Obama girl.

"I can tell you that she is graceful, and lovely, and just charming and delightful… she's pretty remarkable. I mean, they are a remarkable family,” Manheim told ET Online. “When you get hoisted into the spotlight like that, and you grow up under the scrutiny of everybody, and to come out being so charming and in charge of herself, with so much poise, it's beautiful. Any parent would look at her and be proud."

Film production has been an interest of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s eldest daughter for a couple of years. “Malia has expressed some interest in filmmaking,” Obama told People in 2012. “Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies. But she's a freshman, so she also knows she has years in college to explore her interest.”

Extant premieres on CBS July 9 at 9/8c.
