Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Search Leaders Dismiss Private Company's Claim Of Finding Wreckage

Private company GeoResonance claims to have found wreckage from a plane that could belong to the still-missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH 370 that disappeared last month. However, those leading the search for the aircraft are skeptical.

Private Company Find Flight MH370 Wreckage?

Currently, the Joint Agency Coordination Centre is conducting the search for the missing plane. A main reason for their skepticism is that the wreckage found by GeoResonance is in the Bay of Bengal – thousands of miles from the area that’s become the main focus of the search.

"The Australian-led search is relying on information from satellite and other data to determine the missing aircraft's location," the JACC said, reported CNN. "The location specified by the GeoResonance report is not within the search arc derived from this data. The joint international team is satisfied that the final resting place of the missing aircraft is in the southerly portion of the search arc."

Hishammuddin Hussein, Malaysia’s acting Transportation Minister, has said that his country “is working with its international partners to assess the credibility of this information."

GeoResonance's Reports Ignored

GeoResonance’s director has claimed that the company, which launched its search four days after the plane went missing, initially had no plans on going public with their findings. However, they struggled to receive a response from officials both times they offered a report on what they found. Although they aren’t asserting the wreckage discovered is that of the plane in question, GeoResonance believes it’s worth being looked into.

"The company is not declaring this is MH370, however it should be investigated," the company said in a statement.
