With their brand new tween clothing line, aptly titled ‘Material Girl,’ due to debut in stores this August, pop icon Madonna has expressed her admiration for daughter Lourdes Leon’s (Lola for short) creative vision, singling out the 13-year old as the driving force behind their new collaborative venture. Putting herself on equal footing with the daring debutant, proud mother Madge sang Lola’s praises, labeling her as an artist and business partner first and a daughter second.

The upcoming juniors’ collection, which will be available exclusively at Macy’s, is designed to part young girls with their pocket money in the midst of back-to-school madness. Featuring hip items for the fashion conscious young lady for anywhere between $12-$40, affordability was a key factor in the decision making process, with Madonna remembering how she couldn’t even dream of affording designer clothes at that age.

Having reportedly pestered her mother for some time about designing clothes, regularly pilfering from the star’s wardrobe to experiment, Lola cut her teeth in the biz mixing and matching items in the wardrobe department of Madonna’s last two world tours.
