Madonna’s Daughter, Lourdes Leon, Performs As ‘Lolahol’ At Madrid Music Festival Vowing To ‘Break Gender Norms’
On Saturday night, musical icon Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon, 26, performed at the Brava Madrid Music Festival in Spain.
Leon, who goes by the stage name Lolahol, led two other dances in an energetic song and dance routine at the event. She wore a dark red Adidas tracksuit with a silver bra top, blue eye shadow, hoop earrings, and long silver-blue nails.
The star was spotted at the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Madrid on Thursday. She was also featured in a profile for Vogue España, where she chatted with the publication about her latest songs and the performance at her first Brava Madrid festival. She said her aim is to “break gender norms through fantasy, music and fashion.”
Leon says she wants her energy on stage to convey the upbeat, joyful, immersive freeness of club culture.
“My dancers and I are trying to create a joyful atmosphere through the choreography and the music that accompanies it so that the performance is relaxed as well as cool.”
Leon added that she wants to develop “that sweet place where all the styles and elements that I love as an artist have a place… I’m trying to articulate everything in a single vision that manages to penetrate the audience when we are on stage.”
Leon’s first solo single “Lock&Key” was released in August 2022, accompanied by a music video. Before her own release, Leon had also done backup vocals as a teenager in 2012 for her mother’s “Superstar” track, which Madonna wrote about her.
Madonna couldn’t be prouder of her daughter. In a 2019 interview with British Vogue, she noted Leon’s musical ability.
“I’m green with envy because she’s incredible at everything she does – she’s an incredible dancer, she’s a great actress, she plays the piano beautifully, she’s way better than me in the talent department,” she said.
