Madonna is speaking out after her teen son Rocco Ritchie was arrested there weeks ago.
Madonna’s 16-year-old son lives in London with dad Guy Ritchie. News that Rocco was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana on Sept. 28 emerged this Tuesday in reports in The Sun tabloid.
“I love my son very much,” she told reporters on Wednesday. “I will do whatever I can to give him the support that he needs, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
Early Thursday, the Daily Mail published photos of what it said was the “moment” that Rocco was taken into custody.
Her statement comes as the singer took to Instagram with a moving Thanksgiving dedication to Rocco, as well as her other children David, Lourdes, and Mercy, captioning the pic: “Reasons to be thankful.”
