Madonna Selling Central Park West Apartment For $23.5 Million
Madonna, the original Material Girl, is putting her Central Park West apartment, which she has owned since the 1980s, up for sale for an asking price of $23.5 million.
And the luxurious Manhattan duplex isn't all that Madonna is washing her hands of. She also placed her Beverly Hills home on the market back in March, according to the Daily Mail. Perhaps Madonna is trying to simply things, since she has primarily resided in a triple-wide, 12,000+ square foot townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan since 2009.
And the Central Park West duplex shouldn't be too hard for Madge to unload, with its 6000 square foot space, which was originally three different apartments that Madonna combined over the years. The first one she purchased while she was married to Sean Penn in the 1980s before buying an a second one and expanding it after their divorce. Then, Madonna later obtained a third apartment in the 1907 building in order to expand the entire home into one massive, sprawling fifth- and sixth-floor duplex.
The apartment includes 110 feet of window space looking out over Central Park, as well as dual Juliet balconies. There are also six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, five wood-burning fireplaces, French doors, a library, a formal dining room and a chef's eat-in kitchen with marble slab countertops, reports Bitten and Bound. If you are interested, you will be assured lots of bookshelf and closet space. Oh, and don't forget those 10-foot-high ceilings the New York Post reminds prospective buyers.
If you are about to make an offer on the palatial duplex in the co-op building, remember that you will have to figure in the $11,774 per month maintenance on the unit.
