Madonna has been very vocal about her disdain for President Donald Trump, and now the world-famous pop star has revealed he is a big reason for her relocation to Europe.

Speaking to Vogue Italia, Madonna — who will turn 60 this month — said she and her family moved to Portugal last year to get away from Trump after he was elected. According to the Huffington Post, the pop star’s 12-year-old son David is hoping to become a soccer star, another reason for the family’s move to Europe. She spoke of her previous experiences living abroad and her desire to try new things.

“I felt like we needed a change, and I wanted to get out of America for a minute ― as you know, this is not America’s finest hour,” Madonna told Vogue Italia. “Not that leaving America makes anything different or changes anything. I’ve lived in other places; I lived in London for 10 years. I like to put myself in uncomfortable situations and take risks.”

Madonna has slammed Trump and his closest family and friends several times. In 2016, she posted a photo of the president’s eldest sons Donald Jr. and Eric on Instagram. The pictures showed the pair smiling while holding the dead body of a leopard they had shot while hunting.

“How Big of. Pussy Do you have to BE to kill this Noble Animal for sport? Just ask Donald Trump Jr and his brother Eric,” Madonna captioned the photo. “One more reason to vote for Hilary!”

Just weeks before the election, Madonna also shared a video of her son and his friends preparing to hit a Trump piñata for his 11th birthday.

In September, Madonna teased new music she is working on with a pair of Instagram posts.
