Maddie Ziegler Leaving ‘Dance Moms,’ Set To Judge ‘So You Think You Can Dance’

Dance Moms star Maggie Ziegler is leaving the show to pursue acting and further her dance career.

Ziegler has been working with the notorious Abby Lee since she was 4 years old and has decided to take her talents outside her company.

While attending the Kids’ Choice Awards, Ziegler said, “I am leaving, but it’ll be a good thing because we’re moving on to cool things.” She also shared her gratitude for Lee and stated that she will definitely miss all of the other girls in the company who have practically become sisters.

Maddie gained fame rather quickly with her impressive dance skills and was picked up by Australian singer, Sia to star in three of her music videos: “Chandelier,” “Elastic Love” and “Big Girls Cry.”

The tiny dancer has also been picked up to judge the next season of So You Think You Can Dance? with Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo and Nigel Lythgoe.

“I am leaving, but it’ll be a good thing because we’re moving on to cool things,” Ziegler told reporters Saturday. “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation is going to be so amazing. I’m looking forward to it because I feel like kids are so good these days.”
