The American Heart Associations Annual Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection was presented by Macy’s at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday, Feb. 9.
The fashion show featured 19 celebrities in gowns by top fashion designers. The event began in 2003 with a mission to end heart disease and stroke in women. Katie Holmes hosted the star-studded event wearing a burgundy Marchesa dress.
The celebrities that attended were Adrienne Bailon (co-host, The Real); Bonnie Somerville (Code Black); CCH Pounder (NCIS: New Orleans); Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black); Jazz Jennings (activist/I am Jazz); Jeannie Mai (co-host, The Real); Jessie James Decker (singer/designer/reality star); Juliette Lewis (Secrets and Lies); Lauren Holly (Motive); Laurie Hernandez (Olympic Gymnast); Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black); Lucy Lawless (Zena: Warrior Princess); Lynn Whitfield (Greenleaf); Maureen McCormick (Dancing with the Stars); Peyton List (Jessie); Rachel Platten (singer); Stephanie March (Law & Order SVU); and Veronica Webb (model).
Some of the models walked beside heart disease survivors as a show of solidarity. The event was webcast and featured performances from Platten.
Macy’s has raised over $60 million since the start of Go Red, no word yet on how much was raised during last nights event.
