MacKenzie Scott filed for divorce from her second husband Dan Jewett on Monday after less than two years of marriage.

Scott’s first marriage to Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man and Amazon founder, lasted for 25 years and ended in 2019. She then met the science teacher at her children’s school and married him in 2021.

Scott inherited 4% of Amazon shares, with a value of over $30 billion at the time, after her divorce from Bezos. She donated more than $4 billion during the pandemic and created a philanthropic partnership with Jewett to donate their enormous fortune to good causes.

Jewett expressed his pride in Scott and enthusiasm for charity in his message on The Giving Pledge, a site that encourages wealthy people to give a large portion of their money to charity last year.

“I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know – and joining her in a commitment to pass an enormous financial wealth to serve others,” he wrote. “I look forward to the growth and learning I have ahead as part of this undertaking with MacKenzie.”

His message was recently found to be deleted from the site. Scott has also edited Jewett’s name out of her Amazon author bio.
