The MacGyver reboot dropped its first trailer and announced its fall premiere date Thursday.
CBS’s MacGyver reboot stars Lucas Till – best known for playing Havok in the X-Men film franchise – as the titular character. In the new series, MacGyver is a twentysomething who miraculously escapes captivity from a terrorist organization. He then uses his problem-solving abilities to help a secret organization.
“A secret agent unlike any other, MacGyver escapes perilous situations with nothing but a paper clip, his trusty knife, and his wit,” CBS teases the series
In the trailer, MacGyver is shown getting a heroes welcome, and then quickly getting to work for he clandestine organization. As in the original MacGyver, the protagonist orchestrates escapes and fashions weapons out of everyday objects, defying the odds with his genius-level creativity.
In addition to Till, MacGyver stars Addison Timlin, Michelle Krusiec, George Ends, Sunil Malhotra and Joshua Boone.
MacGyver will premiere in the fall, airing Fridays on CBS at 8/7c.
