Macaulay Culkin Shares Why He Refuses To Watch ‘Home Alone’ [VIDEO]

Former child actor Macaulay Culkin made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday and shared why he won’t watch the movie that made him famous, Home Alone.

He noted that he does not watch the movie or do the iconic face from it the more people began to pester him about it. “I’ve been there, done that already. I’m 37, ok? Ok, Mom?” Culkin joked.

He also revealed that he tries to go out less during Christmas time to avoid people bothering him about Home Alone. “It’s my season. It’s Macaulay season,” he says. “I try to go out less and less around that time of year.”

People often ask him to watch the movie with them, which he finds both “flattering and creepy.” He said he cannot watch the movie the way others do, he often reflects back to the memories that came with filming than actually watching. “I’m remembering that day on set, like, how I was hiding my Pepsi behind the couch. I can’t watch it the same way other people can,” he said.

Culkin shared the ups and downs of what it’s like to be famous, he called his childhood fame both “a curse and a blessing.” “I can get into any restaurant I want without a reservation. But while I’m there, everyone’s starting at me and all going ‘awwww’ the whole time,” he explained.

Since he was a child actor, he did not get possession of his earnings until he was 18. “I felt like some kid worked really, really hard and I inherited all of his money,” he said. “It allows me to treat everything like a hobby. I do nothing for my dinner nowadays. I can do all kinds of projects that I want to do.“
