Lynn Redgrave, 67, a member of the Redgrave acting dynasty, died of breast cancer on Saturday night at her home in Connecticut. Redgrave starred in the ’60s classic Georgy Girl and on Broadway in Shakespeare for My Father and Nightingale.
Her children released a statement Monday morning: "Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven year journey with breast cancer. She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time."
The actress’s death comes after her niece Natasha Richardson died from a skiing accident last year and a month after the death of Corin Redgrave, her older brother. Redgrave stayed current appearing on the popular TV shows Ugly Betty, Law & Order and Desperate Housewives in recent years.
