Lynda Carter Posts Throwback Swimsuit Photo, Reminds Fans Of Her ‘Wonder Woman’ Days

Lynda Carter’s Instagram followers were surprised with a throwback photo of the original Wonder Woman this week.

The photo shows a much younger Carter posing in a black one-piece, welcoming the summer season with the caption, “Happy swimsuit season ☀️.”

Fans commented on her post and gushed about her beauty and inspiration as Wonder Woman.

“Attention THIS IS A WOMAN!!!!!,” one fan said.

“I’m a happy guy who grew up with you as my role model and you have been incredible nonstop since WW,” another said.

The Wonder Woman star was cast to play the first Wonder Woman in 1975. The television series only lasted for three seasons, from 1975 to 1979. Carter’s name, however, has been closely associated with the comic book hero ever since.

When Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman, Carter told The Guardian that she was thrilled, “I was standing, I was applauding, I was crying, I was laughing,” she remarked.

Gadot’s comeback in 1984, welcomed Carter back to the DC Universe as Asteria, whose cameo was screened after the end credits.

The end credit scene shows Carter in a blue cape, saving a baby from a falling wooden post. When the mother thanks Asteria for saving the day, Asteria says, “I’ve been doing this a long time.”
