After his team filed a $250,000 lawsuit against a fan for selling homemade drink tumblers with his likeness on them, Luke Combs is hoping to make up for this mistake.
Fan Nicol Harness, who suffers from congestive heart failure, has made a living selling these tumblers, as well as T-shirts, on Amazon.
The defendant said that after going to the singer’s Tampa, Florida, concert in the summer of 2023, she decided to start selling Combs-themed tumblers.
She stated she purchased artwork online and sold 18 tumblers that cost $20 each, thereby allowing her to make a total of $360.
Harness later discovered that the country music singer sued her and others in an Illinois federal court for the selling of fake merchandise.
The judge ordered each defendant to pay Combs $250,000.
“It’s very stressful. I don’t have money to pay my bills,” she claimed. “I just want this resolved. I didn’t mean any harm to Luke Combs. I quit selling the tumbler. I pulled it down. I just don’t understand.”
Harness said that she had no clue that she had been sued until days after her return from a stay at a hospital when she discovered she could not access the money she received through her Amazon storefront.
“I sent so many messages to Amazon asking for answers but couldn’t figure it out,” she stated.
When Harness found an email in her junk folder, she noticed the lawsuit notice in October from Comb’s attorney, which gave her 21 days to reply.
The defendant never got the chance to reply because she was in the hospital when the email was delivered to her junk mail folder. It was also sent to an email address that she hardly uses.
On Wednesday, Combs responded to this lawsuit on TikTok.
“What’s up, guys? Luke here. It’s 7:00 am here in Tennessee. Um, I woke up at 5:00 a.m. to use the restroom, and the first thing I saw was this: a woman that’s being sued by me for $250,000,” he said. “I spent the last two hours trying to make this right, trying to figure out what’s going on, ‘because ’cause I was completely and utterly unaware of this.”
“So we reached out. Firstly, my manager reached out to this news station that ran this piece to try to get some info. And so we do have a company that goes after folks, only supposedly large corporations operating internationally that make millions and millions of dollars making counterfeit t-shirts, things of that nature, running illegal businesses,” the musician declared. “And, apparently, this woman, Nicol has somehow gotten wrapped into that, and that makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.”
“So I was able to get Nicol’s phone number. I spoke to her this morning. She told me that, you know, she was absolutely shocked by this,” Combs recollected. “I’m so apologetic talking to her. It makes me sick, honestly, that this would happen, especially the holidays. I can’t imagine being in her shoes. “
“She told me there’s $5,500 locked up in her Amazon account. I’m gonna double that, send her $11,000 today just so she doesn’t have anything to worry about,” he stated. “She was never supposed to be involved in anything like this. No fan should ever have to be involved in anything like this.”
“She got in trouble apparently for making tumblers. So I’m gonna make my own tumbler today. That’s gonna go up today. I’ll keep you posted on that,” the singer said. “But all that money is gonna go to Nicol and her family to try to help with her medical bills. Hopefully, that can help her out.”
“And again, this is unbelievable. I was completely shocked when I saw this this morning. [It] Makes me sick. This is not something that I would ever do,” the artist protested. “This is not the kind of person I am. I’m not greedy, in any way, shape or form. Money is the last thing on my mind. I promise you guys that.”
“And, uh, I invited Nicol and her family out to a show this year, so I could give her a hug and say sorry in person,” he mentioned. “And yeah, I love you guys. I just wanted to clear that up, man, ’cause it makes me sick for anybody to be thinking that I’m this kind of person, because I’m the farthest thing from it. So love you guys, and I’ll keep you posted.”
Last month, Combs had to cancel a concert scheduled for September 10 in Bangor, Maine, due to problems concerning his voice.
He also recently announced his upcoming Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old tour. It is scheduled to begin in April at the American Family Field in Milwaukee and will end with a final show on August 10 in Houston.

It's a shame. I'm sorry about her health but it shouldn't make him feel sorry for her theft. What if she stole his car or used his songs on a commercial for whatever.. It's no different. I think he is foolish to let her sob story or gross ignorance exonerate her. Just encourages others to take advantage then play dumb.
