Luke Bryan revealed that he and his wife are raising his 13-year-old nephew following the death of his brother-in-law, Ben Lee Cheshire.

Bryan’s brother-in-law died in December, leaving behind three children, Jordan, Chris and Til. Cheshire was married to Bryan’s sister, Kelly, who died suddenly in 2007. Til has moved in with Bryan, his wife Caroline, and their two young sons, Bo and Tate. “We’re exhausted at the end of the day, especially [Caroline] from the new things that are going on in our life,” Bryan told ABC News.

Bryan ensures that Til’s older sisters can visit often, but admitted it’s hard to adjust to the new family dynamic. “It’s every day on the phone all day trying to talk with the family and figure out what to do, but it’s what you gotta do,” Bryan said.

As Bryan gets ready to embark on a world tour, he spoke to ABC News about how his family is healing after the loss of his brother-in-law. “I have to pray that people who have had similar situations can maybe look at me that have had similar situations can maybe look at my family and see me positively dealing with it. I’m not saying it’s easy,” Bryan said.

Bryan added that he was thankful for his fellow Country artists, who performed in his stead in December when Bryan was forced to cancel his performance at the CMT Artists of the Year special. Lady Antebellum and Chris Stapelton performed a cover of Byan’s hit, “Drink A Beer,” which was written for Bryan’s older brother, Chris, who was killed in a car accident in the ‘90s.

“That night we were, as a family, watching all of that on TV and watching Lady A and Stapleton sing that. It was a big-time healing moment,” Bryan said.
