Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood alum Apple Watts is still unresponsive following her March car crash where her car collided with a pickup truck and then flipped several times before catching on fire. Her sister Dominique Flournoy has been updating people on Watts’ condition with frequent social media posts.
From an update posted Wednesday, Flournoy noted that Watts has opened her eyes while remaining unconscious, and shared a little too much information when she said: “she kept trying to pull that catheter out.” She also wrote, “I promise I won’t doubt you.” Flournoy seems to refer to her sister with the affectionate nickname “bullhead,” and shared a sweet photo yesterday of their mother kissing Watts’ forehead.
Watts has also had several successful surgeries since she was hospitalized including procedures on an eye that wasn’t closing properly and her neck. She can now reportedly breathe on her own which is great progress.
Along with a broken neck in two places, Watts sustained a brain injury and a shattered arm in the fiery car crash. Flournoy also highlighted a fundraiser she set up to support Watts, who she noted is a mother of three, through her journey to recovery.
“Apple is a true fighter and now it is our turn to extend strength and support to her as the road to recovery ahead will be a long one,” Flournoy wrote in the GoFundMe campaign description. She also described her sister as “A kind-hearted, active, talented, creative giving, protective, blunt, funny outgoing, and devoted Mother.”
