Louis C.K. Calls Trump “Lying Sack Of S–t” On ‘Late Show’

Comedian Louis C.K. went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night with, what he believes to be, a simple way of describing President Donald Trump. “He’s just a gross crook, dirty, rotten, lyin’, sack of s–t,” said C.K. His voice was slightly muffled by the booming applause from the audience.

The comment came after host Stephen Colbert asked C.K. about an email the comedian had sent to his mailing list in March 2016. In the email, C.K. called Trump an “insane bigot” and compared the then-candidate to Hitler.

“I don’t take it back, I regret it,” C.K. said, noting that it brought him more attention then he desired. “I regret saying it but it doesn’t mean its not true.”

Part of his regret, as he described it, derived from the fact that at the time of the email, C.K. believed that Trump was a “new kind of evil” while he now believes that President Trump is “just a lyin’ sack of s–t.”

Earlier in the show, one audience member identified himself as a Trump voter after Colbert asked if there were any in the theatre. C.K. gave the man his sympathy.

“Everybody else was like, ‘yeah, that’s not true,’ but that guy bought it,” he said in the direction of the audience member. “So he is the victim.”

During the first half of the segment, Colbert and C.K. reflected on their early days in comedy when C.K. was the head writer on the short-lived The Dana Carvey Show. C.K., who was 26 at the time, hired Colbert and Steve Carell, who C.K. once conveniently referred to as “the Steves.”

C.K. was on The Late Show to promote his new, hour-long stand up 2017.

Also of note – it was announced last night that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was the highest rated late night talk show for ninth week in a row. His rise to the top began shortly after President Trump was inaugurated.
