Louis C.K. Beats Journalists On Jeopardy, Wins $50K For Charity

Louis C.K. soundly defeated a pair of journalists in a special edition of Jeopardy earlier this week.

Louis C.K. Wins Jeopardy

Comedian and actor Louis C.K. faced off against CNN’s Kate Bolduan and the Washington Post‘s Jonathan Capehart in the Jeopardy game for which the winnings were to go to the winner’s charity of choice.  “I’ve been watching Jeopardy! since I was a kid,” Louis said of the competition. “So it’s funny to be on. It’s great.”

Taking the game perhaps even more seriously than his media competitors, Louis C.K. quickly started racking up the money. When it came time for Final Jeopardy, neither Bolduan nor Capehart had a chance of catching up to him. However, Louis C.K. managed to get that right as well. (Answer: With the passing of Antonin Scalia, this Reagan appointee became the longest-tenured Justice on the court. Question: Who is Anthony Kennedy.)

Louis C.K. was playing on behalf of the Fistula Foundation, which is dedicated to providing support for women in Africa and Asia with the childbirth injury.

“Louis C.K.’s big win last night is a huge win for women—the $50,000 he won means 85 women’s lives can be transformed forever. And the visibility he raised for our very focused issue has already brought attention and donations to our cause,” Jessica Love, the Fistula Foundation’s Vice President of Communications, told Complex.

Kate Grant, the Fistula Foundation CEO, added, “We are honored and thrilled that Louis C.K. has chosen Fistula Foundation to be ‘his’ charity. The selflessness and generosity of people like Louis C.K. are changing the future for women with fistula. Louis C.K. has been an unlikely partner and a powerful champion of our work, and more women’s lives have been forever changed for the better because of him.”
