Lou Ferrigno was the victim of a death hoax on Wednesday, May 28, when reports suggested that the actor had died in a car accident.

Ferrigno, known for playing The Hulk in the short-lived The Incredible Hulk television show, was rumored to have died in a massive pile-up in Santa Barbara, Calif., after a parody website posted the story.

Lou Ferrigno: "I'm Alive"

The 62-year-old actor and bodybuilder is, in fact, alive and well. He took to Facebook to disprove the rumors, writing, “Thank you all for the concern! I am alive and working."

To prove he is alive, Ferrigno recorded a short video message to his fans.

“Hi everyone, it’s Lou Ferrigno. I’m on my way to the bank; it’s a great Wednesday, beautiful and sunny. I’m not dead. I’m still alive,” Ferrigno said in the video.

Ferrigno also cautioned his fans against believing gossip on the Internet and thanked fans for their messages of support and love:

“And, don’t believe everything you hear or what you read…I love you so much, thank you for your concern, thank you all. And, I’m gonna live a long time, kid!”
