The city of Los Angeles honored the late Batman actor Adam West by lighting up City Hall with the Bat signal.
West died of leukemia last Friday at 88 years old. The actor first played billionaire hero Bruce Wayne aka Batman in the 1960s TV series. In honor of West, Los Angeles shined the Bat signal on City Hall, the sign that shined on the fictional Gotham City Police Department when Batman was needed.
“Like you, we all spent many hours in front of the TV, same bat time, same bat channel,” L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti told the crowd. “Adam West taught us each one of us had a heart of gold. There will never be another Batman like Adam West and there will never be another Adam West.”
