Lori Vallow Daybell Smirks In Photos After Being Given Five Life Sentences For Murdering Her Two Children & Husband’s Late Wife

Mom murderer Lori Vallow Daybell smirked in her prison booking photos after she was charged with five life sentences for killing her two kids and another woman. She has been sentenced to life in prison without parole by a judge in Boise, Idaho. 

Vallow Daybell was convicted back in May after she murdered her 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan and her 7-year-old son Joshua “JJ” Vallow. In addition, she was found guilty of conspiring to kill her husband’s former wife Tammy Daybell. 

Chad Daybell, Vallow Daybell’s fifth husband, is also awaiting trial for the same murder charges as his wife. 

Vallow Daybell, also known as the “doomsday mom,” has deep religious beliefs and stated that she believed her children were being possessed by evil spirits and therefore had to die. While in court, she pleaded not guilty and stated that “accidental deaths happen.” She also claimed that she was in contact with her dead kids and said they “are very busy and happy in heaven.”

Her lawyers argued that she was brainwashed by Chad, who believed that she was a “sexual goddess” and told her she was meant to save the world by finding 144,000 followers for Jesus.

Her former friends testified that Vallow Daybell had already been known to be obsessed with cults and that she believed her kids and other people were turned into “zombies” by evil spirits. The only way, in Vallow Daybell’s opinion, to free these people were through their deaths, which she called spiritual castings. 

The children were murdered in September of 2019, and a few weeks later Tammy was also killed. Vallow Daybell and Chad married just two weeks after Tammy was killed. The two fled the country to Hawaii and were later arrested after police discovered the children’s bodies burned in a grave near the couple’s home. 

It was reported that the deaths were extremely gruesome. Joshua died from asphyxiation, which was caused after he was strangled with a plastic bag, and his body was still intact when authorities found him. Tylee’s body was found dismembered in several bags and buried.

In addition to this, Chad and Vallow Daybell collected the three victims’ life insurance and Social Security benefits. 

Before her trial, Vallow Daybell had been evaluated numerous times in order to test her competency for a trial, but authorities found that her mental health could not be the cause of these murders. 

These are not the only charges she is facing. Two more cases are awaiting trial including one charge of conspiring with her brother to kill Charles Vallow, her fourth husband, and an additional charge of conspiracy to murder her niece’s ex-husband. Charles Vallow was murdered in 2019 after he was shot, but her niece’s ex-husband is still alive after he survived an attempt.
