Loretta Lynn Says She’s Better After Undisclosed Illness That Sent Her To Hospital

Country music singer Loretta Lynn said over the weekend she is feeling better following a short hospital trip to treat an unknown illness.

The ailment prevented 86-year-old Lynn from attending a CMT tribute to her and to other female country music stars.

On Saturday, a Facebook post stated Lynn is feeling better and is resting at home. No further details were shared in the message.

Lynn released her latest album Wouldn’t It Be Great last month. Although she missed Wednesday’s CMT Artists of the Year awards show, Oscar-winning actress Sissy Spacek accepted the Lifetime Achievement award on her behalf.

Spacek — the 68-year-old star of the new film The Old Man & the Gun — played Lynn in the 1980 biographical musical film Coal Miner’s Daughter, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress and that included Lynn’s 1970 famous song of the same name.

In a tweet on Saturday, Lynn said she watched Spacek’s tribute to her multiple times and that she appreciated the praise from her “sweet friend.”
