Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s Only Child, Dies At 54

Lisa Marie Presley, who was the only child of Elvis Presley, died on Thursday after a short hospitalization. She was 54.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a Thursday evening statement. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

Pricilla Presley had confirmed just hours before that her daughter had been rushed to the hospital, asking her followers to lift up a prayer.

The Los Angeles County paramedics responded to a 10:37 a.m. call on Thursday reporting a woman in cardiac arrest. They arrived at Presley’s residence in Calabasas, California, about six minutes after the call was placed, performed CPR and transported Presley to a local hospital.

She died there mere hours later.

Presley attended Elvis’ 88th birthday celebration at Graceland on Sunday. She was also in attendance with her mother at the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday night where she praised Baz Luhrmann‘s Elvis film. It was the last time she was seen publically.

Aside from lifelong fame due to her father’s icon status, Presley made a name for herself as a singer in her own right. She released three albums.

She also became a part of pop culture lore due to her marriages to the legendary Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage.

Though he died when she was just nine years old, Presley was the heir to Elvis’ estate. She spent her life dedicated to carrying on Elvis’ legacy.

Presley is survived by her three daughters: Riley Keough, Finley Aaron Love Lockwood and Harper Vivienne Anne Lockwood. Her late son, Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in 2020.
