A lion was roaming a street in Kuwait’s suburban Bayan district when a man took notice and managed to lure the wild animal into the backseat of his vehicle.
After the citizen had the lion secured in his car, he decided it would be best to call the authorities. "(The passerby) sat inside the car with the lion and then it became dangerous so the citizen called police who came and took it from that car to their car," a police source said, according to NBC News.
Once the police arrived, the lion, thought to be a young adult, was transferred into the back of the police car. A video feed looking into the backseat of the vehicle shows the distressed wild animal taking up the entire backseat of the car.
Owning the king of the jungle is apparently a type of status symbol among those with money in the wealthy Gulf Arab state. Police are looking into the matter in an effort to determine the lion's former owner.
