A hacker stole Lindsey Vonn‘s cellphone information, and leaked nude photos of the Olympic skier, plus at least one of Vonn’s ex-boyfriend Tiger Woods.
The attorney for both Vonn and Woods, Michael Holtz, says notices have been issued to anyone who has posted the photos. “We have issued takedown notices to various websites who have posted the illegally hacked photos of our clients. Almost all sites have complied or will comply with our demand,” he said, adding that, “we will pursue legal action against them swiftly and vigorously.”
Vonn, 32, and Woods, 41, were in a relationship for about three years, which ended in the spring of 2015. The hacker is still unidentified, “but considering this is a widespread event, it appears to be a situation like the ‘Fappening in 2014,’ where one or more individuals may have hacked numerous photos and videos of multiple celebrities from the cloud,” Holtz said.
This time around, the website that posted the nudes also shared some of Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart, and Stella Maxwell, among others. The Pennsylvania man responsible for the leak in 2014 was sentenced in 2016 to 18 months in prison.
“It is an outrageous and despicable invasion of privacy for anyone to steal and illegally publish private, intimate photos,” said a statement issued by Vonn’s spokesperson. “Lindsey will take all necessary and appropriate legal action to protect and enforce her rights and interests. She believes the individuals responsible for hacking her private photos, as well as the websites that encourage this detestable conduct, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent under the law.”
