Olympic bronze medalist Lindsey Vonn attended this year’s Academy Awards only a week after competing Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Vonn is one of many who take home the fashion gold for being the best dressed on Sunday night.

The alpine skier walked on the Oscar’s red carpet wearing a custom Christian Siriano black gown. The dress was inspired by the classic 1920s look, but with a modern twist. The all black ensemble featured a sheer neckline and a cinched waistline. The athlete stood out on the red carpet with the dress’s sequined chevron stripes, tassel sleeves, and a protruding train of tulle layers.

Vonn paired the extravagant dress with equally extravagant jewelry, wearing a Bulgari choker with matching earrings and bracelets. She also sported a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti heels on the red carpet.

She completed her look with her long blonde hair slicked back to show off the details of her neckline. However, she matched the dramatic look with dark smokey eyes.

Despite looking stunning on the red carpet, Vonn fell victim to a fashion emergency right before the event. The original design of the dress, which she shared on her Instagram story, showed sheer long sleeves that matched her neckline. However, the Olympian was having problem with one of the sleeves. Her stylist Jeff Kim reacted quickly by cutting the sleeves off completely.

At the end of the day, even without wearing the original design, Vonn managed to be one of the best dressed on Sunday night. She was accompanied by her sister, Karin Kildow, as her date. The two were invited to the red carpet by Rolex.
