Lindsay Lohan might be dating longtime friend and former NFL player Matt Nordgren.

Nordgren confirmed that the two were close, but managed to avoid confirming any sort of romantic relationship.

“We’ve hung out. But I have been a friend trying to support her for many years now,” Nordgren told Page Six.

Nordgren is a businessman who, in addition to playing one season for the Philadelphia Eagles and started in the short-lived Bravo reality show Most Eligible Dallas, runs his family’s energy consulting company, Nordo Inc. Energy Systems. He is rumored to have dated reality stars Vienna Giardi, of The Bachelor and Audrina Patridge from The Hills.

Lohan has yet to address the rumors; however, on Sept. 11, she shared a picture of herself with Nordgren on Instagram. The photo shows the two sitting close together in the company of two other friends.

One source close to Lohan said that Nordgren is good for Lohan, who recently finished a three-month stint in rehab, and is already close to the entire Lohan family.

“He drinks but not irresponsibly and not in front of her. He is close to her whole family,” the source told People.

Another source confirmed that Lohan and Nordgren are an item, but added that it isn’t anything serious. In fact, the source insists that Lohan and Nordgren have a long history of casual dating.

“I’m not surprised about Lindsay and Matt. They have a history of hooking up during New York Fashion Week. Last year, they had a wild night of partying and hooking up. So it’s not shocking they’re hanging out again this time of year,” the source told E! News.

The source added hat Lohan and Nordgren were still committed to seeing each other when they are in the same city, even though they aren’t officially a couple.

“Is he her boyfriend? No. He lives in Dallas. But they see each other when he’s in NY or LA,” the source said.
