Lindsay Lohan Using A Sober Coach To Stay Clean Post-Rehab

Lindsay Lohan has been living with a sober coach since her release from rehab July 30.

As part of her continued recovery, Lohan employed a sober coach to be with her at all times in addition to the three 50-minute therapy sessions she must complete every week.

“The coach is a really fun, great person, but is very strict about keeping Lindsay together and not falling back,” a source told E! News.

The coach, who is reportedly male, was supposed to accompany Lohan on her European vacation, but that trip has since been cancelled thanks to a concerned Oprah Winfrey. Lohan is currently living in her sober coach’s Los Angeles home while she transitions to life outside of Cliffside.

“You need to use your sober coach to bring treatment home, to the set, to the attorney’s office when you’re negotiating your next movie. Without bringing a sober coach to those places, she is highly likely to relapse,” Doug Caine, a man who runs a sober coaching business called Sober Champion, told People.

According to Caine, a sober coach can cost thousands of dollars a day — he charges up to $2,500. And, while a sober coach cannot be employed forever, sources are confident that Lohan’s decision to employ one is a step in the right direction.

“She is taking this really serious,” a source told E! News, adding that it was Lohan who insisted upon hiring a sober coach after she left rehab.

Lohan is also slowly rejoining the entertainment business. She acted as guest-host on Chelsea Lately last week and her in depth interview with Oprah will air Sunday on OWN, August 18 at 9 P.M.
