Lindsay Lohan Defends Donald Trump In Tweet: “Stop Bullying Him & Start Trusting Him”

Lindsay Lohan took to Twitter over the long Fourth of July weekend to defend Donald Trump.

On Monday, Trump involved himself in a legal battle in the UK concerning the fate of infant Charlie Gard, who was born with a rare disorder and is currently on life support. A judge in the UK sided with the child’s doctors, who believe removing life support is the best decision for the baby. Many responded in uproar, offering their support to the family.

“If we can help little #CharlieGard, as per our friends in the U.K. and the Pope, we would be delighted to do so,” Trump tweeted.

Lohan responded to the tweet. “THIS IS our president. Stop #bullying him & start trusting him. Thank you personally for supporting #THEUSA,” she said. And later, “@realDonaldTrump @IvankaTrump @FLOTUS @DonaldJTrumpJr are king people. As An American, why speak poorly of anyone? #FAITH #July4th.”

This is not the first time Lohan has declared her support for Trump. “I think always in the public eye you’re going to be scrutinized,” she told The Daily Mail in February. “He is the president – we have to join him. If you can’t beat him, join him.”

However, Trump has not been so kind to Lohan in the past. In a 2004 interview on Howard Stern‘s radio show, the now-president said, “She’s probably deeply troubled and therefore great in bed.” Aside from the usual support or disdain from Trump supporters and resisters, many just seemed shocked that Lohan would speak favorably of the man.

“Stop trying to make Trump happen. It’s not going to happen,” said one Twitter user in response, riffing off a line from Mean Girls. Another said the actress’ account must have been “hacked.”
