Lindsay Lohan Arrested In Alleged Hit-And-Run
Perhaps Lindsay Lohan, 26, is in a competition with Amanda Bynes, 26, to see who can get arrested most before the year is out, because that seems the only way possible that both troubled actresses would find themselves with so many reports of traffic violations. The latest one for Lohan involves her arrest early Wednesday morning after allegedly hitting a pedestrian near the Dream Downtown hotel and nightclub hotspot in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, before reportedly leaving the scene.
While Lohan was arrested for the alleged collision after reportedly passing it by and entering the club anyway, her publicist, Steve Honig, who should probably consider asking for a raise, is doing his usual damage control. "While some of the facts are still being gathered, it appears that this is much ado about nothing," he said, reports Newsday. "We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue."
The police reportedly arrived on the scene after a 911 call was placed, and Lohan emerged from the club and returned to her car within a half hour of entering, around 2:25 a.m. She was arrested, processed at the nearby precinct and released two hours later after being given a desk appearance ticket. Police say that a Breathalyzer test was not administered, though alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the incident, reprorts E! Online.
The man Lohan allegedly hit complained of knee pain and was identified by the New York Daily News as Jose Rodriguez, a cook.
Lohan will next appear in the Lifetime movie, Liz and Dick, about the lives of lovers Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The movie has already wrapped filming and is in post-production.
