The Limón Dance Company celebrated its 78th season with captivating shows at The Joyce Theater, New York City’s modern dance emporium.
The program opens with Doris Humphrey’s solo, Two Ecstatic Themes, followed by Limón’s masterful retelling of Gethsemane in The Traitor.
After a 45-year pause, Limón’s male drumming quartet Scherzo returns to the stage alongside the iconic Missa Brevis, a tribute to strength amid adversity. Newly commissioned by the Limón Company, this world premiere by choreographer Kayla Farrish reimagines two lost Limón works.
Limón’s unique take on modern dance offers a brazen energy that won’t easily be forgotten.
Tickets for the remaining shows are now available.
