The Lilly Pulitzer collection for Target crashed the retailer’s website almost as soon as it went live.
The 250-item Lilly Pulitzer collection went live on Target.com at 3 a.m. this morning. Those who had eagerly awaited the launch of the collection, heading to the site in the wee hours of the morning were sorely disappointed when the entire site went down before they could purchase any of the fashionable duds.
“I woke up around 2 a.m. and thought of the launch then couldn’t get back to sleep so I decided to check online,” said hopeful shopper Tracy Donohue. “My excitement quickly turned to frustration.”
Before 7 a.m., Target revealed that the site was back up and running and that those looking to purchase from the collection could now do so online.
“We know you’re frustrated & we’re sorry. We appreciate your patience. You can now shop the #LillyforTarget collection,” the company tweeted.
Target’s Lilly Pulitzer collection is also available in stores, though the items are reportedly already selling out.
