The Lifetime network has already committed to making a movie about the royal romance between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The film, to be titled Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story, will chronicle the couple’s relationship starting from when the pair first met up through their engagement. The Royals‘ Menhaj Huda is tapped to direct the TV movie and Meredith Finn and Michele Weiss will serve as executive producers.
While the network has not yet set a release date, fans should expect to see the film just before the real-life wedding of Harry and Markle, scheduled for May 19. Lifetime also created a love story about Prince William and Kate Middleton, called William & Kate: The Movie, which aired just 11 days before their royal wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011.
Funnily, the Lifetime film will have to compete with a TV project by Trevor Engelson, who is Markle’s ex-husband. His pilot, which was sold to Fox in September, is about a man whose ex marries into the British royal family.
