Liam Payne’s Ex, Maya Henry, Accused Singer Of ‘Obsessively’ Trying To Contact Her Just Days Before His Death
Former One Direction star Liam Payne’s ex-fiancé, Maya Henry, reportedly accused the singer of obsessive contact, ordering a cease and desist letter days before his death.
In a letter sent to Payne by Henry’s lawyers, the model accused the singer of continuously contacting her and obsessively contacting her friends and family.
Henry’s lawyers served Payne on Oct. 14.
“Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information,” a statement they wrote read. “She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this time, that is her only comment on the matter.”
Henry claimed the singer was “weaponizing” his fans against her earlier this month.
“Ever since we broke up, he messages me, will blow up my phone, not only from his phone number, it’s always from different phone numbers too, so I never know where it’s gonna come from,” she claimed in a TikTok video.
She added, “He’ll create new iCloud accounts to iMessage me — it’s always a damn new iCloud account. Every time I see one pop up on my phone, I’m like, ‘Here we go again.’”
The pair dated on and off for four years, beginning in 2018. They got engaged in 2020 but ended the engagement a year later, officially calling it quits in 2022.
After the two split, Payne said he was at fault for the rift in their relationship.
“I feel like more than anything at this point, I’m more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people,” Payne said on the Diary of a CEO podcast in 2021. “That annoys me. I’ve just not been very good at relationships. I’m just not very good at them, so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else.”
“I didn’t feel good doing what I did, but it had to happen,” Payne continued, noting why they decided not to marry. “Just a corny way to say it was the best for us both.”
Payne died on Oct. 16 after falling several stories from his balcony at the CasaSur Palermo hotel. The hotel manager reported that he jumped to his death, but other reports suggest that he was unconscious at the time. He was 31.
