Liam Payne has faced an onslaught of digs about his weight after appearing shirtless on a yacht, and the One Direction member has had enough of the body shaming.

Photographs of Payne, 20, vacationing last week were captioned with suggestions that the boy band singer had packed on some extra weight. Payne, who has weathered criticism about his body before, took to Instagram to make fun of the the suggestion that he's fat. He captioned a picture of himself with his shirt stuffed, "I mean OH MY GOD I'm just so fat these days I think I need help! quick someone take the cookie jar."

In a more serious Instagram post, Payne shared his Body Mass Index (BMI). At 22.8, the singer is in the normal weight-range, according to the formula. Payne pointed out that though he might not be as sculpted as some other celebrities and athletes, he is a healthy young man.

"Now just because I'm sick of seeing this everyday so I just want to clear up what the media do to people these days," Payne wrote. "Is it wrong to be normal? Or do I have to look like an Olympic swimmer just to get your approval into the cool kids or can I accept that the person I truly love thinks I'm the coolest kid in town anyway? Think I'll vote the second one. Enjoy your day people."

Earlier on in his yachting vacation, Payne put his One Direction fans in a frenzy when he Instagrammed a picture of himself towards the back of the vessel with what appeared to be no clothes on. After he was asked multiple times to share the uncensored version of the snap, Payne obliged – revealing he actually had a pair of swim shorts on.
