Leonardo DiCaprio's Stepbrother, Adam Farrar Arrested, Niece Missing
Leonardo DiCaprio’s stepbrother Adam Farrar was arrested in Texas Friday, Jan. 24, on two outstanding warrants from Los Angeles County.
DiCaprio and Farrar grew up together in Los Angeles after Farrar’s mother, Peggy, married DiCaprio’s father, George, when DiCaprio was a young boy. DiCaprio and Farrar were both child actors and were reportedly once very close. It is now being reported that the two have not spoken in years and “do not get along.” Farrar has a long history with the law. He was arrested in 2000 on suspicion of attempted murder, though charges were never filed.
Farrar Arrested On Outstanding Warrants
The warrants stemmed from previous charges of drug possession and theft. Farrar, 42, was also taken in for allegedly harassing someone over the phone. Farrar was arrested when he went to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office to visit his longtime girlfriend, Charity Moore, 38, who was arrested Jan. 20 for possession and theft.
“A bench warrant was issued last December for Farrar’s drug case – he had pleaded guilty to possession of heroin and is supposed to be in a drug diversion program. He was charged in July 2013, he pleaded guilty in Sept. 2013, and he was due in court on Dec. 6, 2013, for a progress report, which resulted in a bench warrant,” Jane Robison, L.A. County District Attorney spokeswoman, told People.
Leonardo DiCaprio's Niece Missing?
According to People, Moore was also brought in in relation to her daughter with Farrar, 6-year-old Normandie, who has been absent from school. Normandie is actually listed in the Los Angeles County missing children’s database, and has been since July 31, 2013. Lt. John Norton of the Collin County Sheriff’s Office said that he was “not aware of a missing child. There was no child with [Farrar] when he came in.”
It is unclear where Normandie is at this time. Some reports suggest that her parents were hiding with her in Texas after the couple became entangled in an investigation by the LA County Department of Children and Family Services.
“Adam and Charity have been hiding with Normandie in Texas, away from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Service, who have long been involved in their cases due to their criminal pasts. They had been staying in North Dallas. Now, no-one in the family is sure where their daughter is at this time,” a source told Radar Online.
Moore’s father, Don, contacted Radar Online claiming that Normandie is not missing, but refused to give any details, saying, “She’s a beautiful child and she’s not ‘missing.’ She was with her mother and where she is now is nobody’s business.” However, Don also admitted that he had not been in contact with his daughter for months.
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office is currently in contact with Los Angeles officials to discuss how to proceed with Farrar’s case.
