Leonardo DiCaprio seems to be taking a cue from his Wolf of Wall Street character Jordan Belfort for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he’s arrived in style on a borrowed superyacht that’s ranked as the fifth largest in the world.
DiCaprio is either borrowing or renting Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s 482-foot yacht the Topaz, worth roughly $680 million, reported the Daily Mail. Sheikh Mansour, who had the yacht custom built in 2012, is personally worth a reported $4.9 billion. His family fortune is estimated around $150 billion.
The lavish vessel of the deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emitates and owner of Manchester City FC will serve as the home away from home for DiCaprio and more than 20 of his friends as they enjoy the World Cup in Brazil. While the group headed to Sao Paolo Thursday to watch the opening game between Brazil and Croatia – which Brazil won 3-1 after a questionable penalty kick call – the Topaz remained moored in Rio de Janeiro.
When DiCaprio and his pals are aboard the Topaz, they have plenty at their disposal to keep them entertained. The yacht features a deck top jacuzzi, a swimming pool, fitness hall, cinema and large conference room. Traveling elsewhere in the region won’t be a problem for DiCaprio, as the yacht has two helicopter landing pads.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup began on June 12 and will culminate with the final game on July 13. In 2010, Spain defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in the World Cup final.
