Leonard Cohen, “Hallelujah” Singer-Songwriter, Dies At 82
Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen died late Thursday. The news was announced on Cohen’s Facebook page with no current details provided on the cause of death.
Earlier this year, Cohen said on an interview, “I am ready to die. I hope it’s not too uncomfortable.” He later followed this up by stating, “I think I was exaggerating. I’ve always been into self-dramatization. I intend to live forever.”
Famous for the song “Hallelujah,” Cohen was a successful poet before his career as a songwriter. When poetry failed to pay his bills, he switched to songwriting.
Cohen’s memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later this month.
