Girls star Lena Dunham said that if Donald Trump were to win in November, she would go north of the border to Canada.
The Hillary Clinton supporter was very clear about her intentions. “I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will,” Dunham said on Monday. “I know a lovely place in Vancouver and I can get my work done from there.”
It may not be as easy as she and others think, though. John Dodge, the Executive Producer of CBS Chicago’s website, took the residency test to live in Canada twice and got rejected both times. There is a line of questioning, ranging from language abilities to income/net worth. In order to travel to the land of free health care and hockey, one needs a visa, either for work or otherwise.
Trump heard about Dunham’s comments during an interview with Fox & Friends and he responded, no surprise, in a very Trumpish way. “Well, she’s a B actor and has no mojo,” he said. “I heard Whoopi Goldberg said that, too. That would be a great, great thing for our country if she got out.”
Not to be outdone, he also encouraged Rosie O’Donnell to do the same. “Now I have to get elected because I’ll be doing a great service to our country,” Trump said.
