LeAnn Rimes Comes Clean About Cheating

"Life goes on" for LeAnn Rimes. The country singer, who divorced her husband of eight years, Dean Sheremet after having an affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, recently confessed her regrets at the way she handled the end of her marriage. 

Rimes, 28, is happy in her new relationship with Cibrian, 37, but still feels ashamed of her past actions towards Sheremet. "I understand why people are disappointed in me, especially since I grew up as America’s sweetheart," she told Shape Magazine in its October issue. Cibrian and Rimes met on the set of movie Northern Lights, where they began their extramarital romance. Cibrian, like Rimes, was married at the time and has two children with his ex-wife. "I think any relationship is hard to get out of, and I don’t think the way I did it was right," Rimes admitted. "I did one of the most selfish things that I possibly could do, in hurting someone else.

The country singer believes she and Sheremet married too young. "It wasn’t a fulfilling marriage for either of us. As we got older, we grew apart." Still, Rimes, who finalized her divorce last December and currently lives with Cibrian, has moved on. "After going through this, I know I can face anything," she said. –AMY LEE
