Leah Remini
Leah Remini, who was once a devout Scientologist, is now reportedly hoping to expose the church in a TV docu-series.
Remini has plans to shoot a documentary series about Scientology to expose the damage is does to families, according to journalist Tony Ortega. Ortega, incidentally, assisted in making the Scientology documentary Going Clear, which made waves when it came out in 2015. At the time, Remini gave her unreserved approval.
A network is developing a series “about the way Scientology rips apart families … produced by former Scientology celebrity Leah Remini,” Ortega wrote on his website
“We broke the news in 2013 that Leah ditched Scientology, which she had grown up in. The King of Queens actress came out with a bestselling memoir last November, Troublemaker, with juicy anecdotes about what it was like to be a celebrity in a celebrity-obsessed church,” Ortega added. “We’ve confirmed that Leah’s series is currently shooting footage, and appears to be on a fast track.”
Remini has yet to comment on the reports of her Scientology series. However, she recently retweeted a former employee of hers on Twitter, whose posts highlight how Scientology forces close family members and friends apart – as the purported series would apparently show as well.
