Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer has lost primary custody of her five-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah.
Messer lost custody of Ali and Aleeah following an Oct. 13 court date, which awarded Messer’s ex-husband and the girls’ father Corey Simms “primary custody, effective immediately,” according to InTouch Weekly. “Leah only gets the girls on the weekends now.”
Simms had taken Messer back to court after finding reason to believe that the 23-year-old was not adequately looking after their two children together. One of the problems Simms highlighted was Messer failing to get Ali and Aleeah to school on time.
“Leah’s really been screwing up… so Corey took her back to court,” the source explained. “The judge looked at the girls’ school records, which show that they’ve been late for school, and made the change in custody.”
“Leah’s been crying,” the insider added. “She never thought this would happen.”
Messer could potentially also lose custody of her 2-year-old daughter Adalynn with ex-husband Jeremy Calvert.
“Everyone is worried about Addie. She recently wandered out of the house while Leah was distracted,” a family source claims. “Thankfully, a police officer found Addie and brought her back home.”
The source continued, “If [Jeremy] can find [a job] nearby, he’ll go for the same custody arrangement that Corey did.”
