Lea Michele
Lea Michele has broken her social media silence and is paying tribute to her late Glee co-stars, Naya Rivera and Cory Monteith.
Rivera’s body was discovered in Lake Piru in Ventura County, California on, July 13 which was also the seventh anniversary of Monteith’s death. The actress was confirmed dead five days after she was reported missing after renting a boat with her four-year-old son, Josey Dorsey.
Authorities claim the cause of Rivera’s death was a “horrible accident.” It appears Rivera and her son swam together, and Rivera helped her son get back on the boat before disappearing under the surface of the water.
Monteith died seven years earlier as a result of “mixed drug toxicity” of heroin and alcohol.
Michele paid tribute to both of her former co-stars by sharing black-and-white portraits of Rivera and Monteith on her Instagram story. Michele also shared a group photo from Glee.
Michele was dating Monteith at the time of his death.
Michele is now married to Zandy Reich and the couple is expecting their first child together.
Last year, Rivera opened up about her relationship with Michele during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Rivera claimed there was never any “beef” between the two actresses.
“I don’t think there was like ever any beef,” she told Cohen. And when he asked Rivera about liking Michele’s engagement announcement, she said, “It’s a good ring.”
